TESLA's Publishing Rights Acquired By ROUND HILL MUSIC
May 26, 2014Round Hill Music has announced its acquisition of 100 percent of the publishing for the band TESLA's entire song catalog.
"TESLA is simply one of the most iconic bands from the hard rock era of the late Eighties and early Nineties," states Josh Gruss, founder and CEO of Round Hill Music. "Although their hits are now over two decades old, their raw and powerful sound still endures today. Round Hill Music is thrilled to take over the rights to these amazing songs."
TESLA is a multi-platinum-selling hard rock band founded in 1982 by vocalist Jeff Keith, bassist Brian Wheat, and guitarist Frank Hannon in Sacramento, California. The band toured extensively with DEF LEPPARD and POISON and was one of the most popular hard rock bands of the 1980s, selling 14 million albums in the U.S alone.
The catalog that Round Hill Music has acquired includes songs from TESLA's platinum-selling albums, representing most of the band's iconic work and including the classic '80s power ballad "Love Song" and other hits, such as "Comin' Atcha Live", "Modern Day Cowboy" and "The Way It Is". These copyrights helped define the 1980s hard rock era.
Round Hill Music was founded by Josh Gruss in 2010 as a boutique-sized music publisher offering high-touch administration and creative services to its songwriters. Since then, Round Hill Music has signed exclusive worldwide publishing deals with some of the industry's most successful songwriters, while also building a stellar catalog of iconic songs.
TESLA's new studio album "Simplicity", will be released on June 6 in Europe viaFrontiers Records and on June 10 in North America through Tesla Electric Company Recording's arrangement with Entertainment One Music and distribution.
